CharlotteFive reports – VOTE: What should we name this new beer from Legion Brewing and Brewpublik?

Legion Brewing and Brewpublik — with help from C5 and Queen City Brewers Festival — are brewing a new beer, and last week we asked you to help us come up with a name for it. And boy, did you respond.

We received hundreds of submissions — some better than others — for the single hop, single malt (“SMaSH”) beer being brewed with pale ale malt from Epiphany Craft Malt in Durham and Idaho 7, a Pacific Northwest hop that has accent notes of tangerine and black tea. (Read more about the beer here.)

We asked you to keep the name local, consider putting “SMaSH” in the name, and to work in a tennis reference if possible, since Queen City Brewers Festival benefits ACEing Autism.

QCBF-New

After carefully sifting through all of the submissions, we narrowed it down to eight finalists: Arthur SmASHE; bACEline; Do you even SMaSH, bro?; Game, Set, SMaSH; SMaSH and Rally; SMaSH Point; Super Smash Brew; and Tap That SMaSH.

Now it’s your turn to vote on a favorite. The person whose suggested name gets the most votes will win two tickets to this year’s Queen City Brewers Festival on Feb. 4. We’ll be unveiling the name at QCBF and Brewpublik will be exclusively pouring the beer at the festival.

And as a thank you for voting, you’ll receive a code that will get you 10 percent off your first delivery from Brewpublik when you submit your ballot. What are you waiting for? Help us name this beer.
